The gas detector is mainly composed of the sensor and the main board circuit of the device itself. We divide it into two main parts, the first part is the sensor part, and the second part is the body part of the detector.
The sensors in the gas detector have a fixed service life, and the service life of sensors with different principles is different. For example, the normal design life of the sensor based on the electrochemical principle must be replaced after two years. The replacement time is generally not related to the storage time. Because the electrochemical sensor has an electrolyte inside, it will naturally decrease during the placement of the sensor. Therefore, it will be consumed even if it is not used, so it basically has a fixed replacement cycle, and it must be replaced once it expires.
The second part is the circuit board part of the gas detector. From this point of view, generally, a circuit with a reliable design and sufficient materials can basically guarantee the service life of the fuselage for 3-5 years. Some portable gas detectors have a suction pump and a battery. Such accessories can generally be used for about 2 years.
There is no problem with the circuit board under normal use of the gas detector. In most cases, the failure of the sensor leads to the failure of the instrument. The service life of the electrochemical sensor is about 2 years. After 2 years, you need to check the performance of the instrument and determine whether to replace the sensor.
